Part of the 2013 D&AD Students Awards brief in which I was awarded a Nomination for yellow pencil.
The brief was to build the Batiste brand by creating four new graphic identities and fragrances. They should fit in with the current range but have stand out shelf appeal.
The limited edition range has been inspired by the S/S trend of Neon, fluorescents and vibrant colours. Neon in Greek translates to Neos meaning New. Neon completely embodies the spirit and lifestyle of the Batiste girl. Neos is not just about the vibrant colours but each bottle contains its own fluore'scent'. All four identities and fragrances take you from daytime chic to night time glamour.
A specialist glows in the dark ink creates a unique bottle design that reveals a different pattern for each of the scents.
NetEDI provides business-to-business integration and supply chain collaboration solutions for any business needing to trade electronically.
I was tasked with refreshing their existing brand identity and to create something fresh and modern to the established brand.
The new logo mark reflects the growth and innovation of NetEDI keeping it as similar as possible to the original mark so it is still recognisable as a company but making it appear less dated and position them as a more contemporary and modern company.
The rounded edges make the mark flow better, mirroring the seamless flow of information from B2B.
The 2 initials have been integrated to show the connection between B2B and the link of communication and exchange between customer and company.
To bolster the identity, and reinforce the brand values a bold blue was used throughout.

O'Corra Irish Whiskey
O'Corra Irish Whiskey Brand identity and Packaging Design.
O’Corra Whiskey is no ordinary whiskey. This fine aged, special edition is a blend of 100% pure Irish spirit and inspiration. Made to capture the Irish charm and culture of good craic and great times.
This project is part of experiments I did for my degree. A conceptual brand created around my surname and heritage. The aim of the project was to use as a piece of self promotion to send out to potential employers based around the concept ‘Take a shot on me’ encouraging employers to give me a chance of a job and using high quality, Irish Whiskey as an implicit comparison.
The project consisted of 8 laser cut wooden boxes, wood stained by myself, with a collection of shot glasses, mini whiskey bottles and printed collateral that included the brand story and drinks recipe cards.
Self Promotion Mailer
A personal project to promote myself and gain some attention from design agencies. Having the opportunity to secure some practical work experience within the design industry, rather than sending a covering email and a CV, this hand-made direct mailer was designed and produced to send out to potential employers, containing links to my online portfolio as well as other bits and pieces.
I was rewarded with a placement at agency Creative Spark in Manchester and was also featured in the Computer Arts magazine issue on self-promotion.
Life Changing Fitness
Life Changing Fitness is a company born on the back of one man’s dream to change overweight people’s lives. Having been obese and now an aspiring fitness model Dan wanted to refresh his current identity to bring it up to date with the growth of the Life Changing Fitness brand. Nothing too drastic, but enough to give the business a nice lift and refresh given the big things that Dan had planned coming in the future.
With a simplified logo and improved communication, I successfully strengthened their natural credentials without losing their bold online presence.
Branding, Digital Banners, all website content, Social media graphics and printed collateral where all created.
Ampersand Packaging Design
The brief was to package a lunch time wrap and treat.
A unique brand and an attractive packaging design solution was created that can work across a range of products. Ampersand is a food and beverage brand concept that encourages consumers to purchase combinations of their favourite wraps, treats and drinks.
The visual identity can be broken down into 3 key brand elements, the logo, typographic style and colour palette each reinforcing their own key brand values.
Colour is a key product navigation tool for the time poor consumer, so I have used a striking colour palette for high impact and to engage and stimulate the consumer. Vibrant, fresh and dynamic colours depicted fish in blue, vegetarian in green and spicy meat in orange.
This project won a Commended Award at the 2012 Student Starpack awards
A collection of logos old and new created for various clients and uni projects.
Part of my Self Promotion Mailer, wanting to create something unusual to send out to potential employers that would help me stand out from the many CVs they receive every day. The project gained a lot of online exposure and been featured on several design blogs.
Conceptional identity and Stationery range for an Architectural studio.
The name Space refers to architecture theory, in which an architect takes a selected space and plan elements within in. The negative space from the characters in the logotype are used as graphic devices across all communications.
Hand Drawn Jubilee Tea Towels
Concept tea towel designs for celebrating the Queens Diamond Jubilee. Experimenting with hand drawn type and illustration.
Part of a screen printing class at uni, while experimenting I produced this set of posters as a bit of fun. I was really happy with how they turned out which lead me to include them as part of my self promotion mailer.
